School Level Ambassadors
Role
- An individual who has direct contact with the administrator and staff of his/her school and who supports designated teachers.
- An individual who is enthusiastic with the spirit of Kids Voting.
Responsibilities and Activities
- Ignite energy and motivation in colleagues to support youth by integrating Kids Voting Hawaii into the curriculum
- Serve as link to Kids Voting Hawaii Complex Liaison and school staff – answer questions or refer inquiries about the program to appropriate resources
- Work with the school registrar or clerk to begin the registration process.
- Work in collaboration with the Principal to select authorized teachers to receive the student passwords from Kids Voting Hawaii.
- Attend orientation session if scheduled
- Disseminate information and materials such as the Kids Voting Curriculum CD-ROM and brochures
- Inform/update faculty regarding website (http://kidsvotinghawaii.org), video tape produced by the DOE’s Teleschool Branch, live telecast and repeat broadcast schedules, Kids Voting Hawaii rallies, and other events
- Assist teachers to encourage students to vote on-line
- Inform teachers and staff about retrieving voting results and student participation after the elections.
